A few weeks ago, I saw a recommendation for an online rebate processing opportunity. Then I found various warnings against the organization, and a Better Business Bureau rating of “F.” More recently, I read a warning that claimed to be more general.
The warning went something like this. The rebate processor was required to choose which products to sell, figure out how to sell them, and provide the rebate money to customers. Some rebate processing companies may provide some guidance in the how-to’s, but the rebate processor must also foot the advertising bill. This lowers net profits on commissions, the warning said typically to below zero dollars per rebate on average.
Even if the rebate processor can make an income, the work-at-home opportunity requires much more of the worker than might be expected — like taking risk. Risk may be assumed for business owners and entrepreneurs, but this is more than stay-at-home folks looking for an undemanding job may expect.
